August Wilson Theatre Marquee Ornament (2021 Collection)
August Wilson Theatre Marquee Ornament (2021 Collection)
Our August Wilson Marquee Ornament represents one of our favorite theaters! Whether you're a fan of Mean Girls, Jersey Boys, or even Funny Girl, this ornament will bring that theatre magic to you this holiday season! This handmade, one-of-a-kind piece is made of a base of clear acrylic, with layers of glitter paper and different colors of wood to illuminate the iconic signature of the acclaimed theatrical namesake!
When Green Team Owner Tim began Broadway Up Close in 2010 he utilized the beautiful theaters as the framework to tell our stories. We've marveled at the singularity of each of the 41 Broadway marquees ever since, and so in 2020, he began a 10 year mission to recreate every one.
Each year we will be releasing four marquee ornaments - interpreting them both literally and figuratively for a keepsake that will bring these beautiful theaters to life even if you're not standing in Times Square!
For our 2021 collection we are featuring four theaters that played a pivotal role in the reopening of Broadway: the August Wilson (home to the first post-pandemic play: Passover), the New Amsterdam (home to the first post-pandemic concert: Disney at the New Am), the St. James (home to the first post-pandemic musical act: Springsteen on Broadway), and the Winter Garden (home to the 2020 Tony Awards).
